Winter Morning Poem
Ogden Nash
Winter is the king of showmen
Turning tree stumps into snow men
And houses into birthday cakes
And spreading sugar over lakes
Smooth and clean and frosty white
The world looks good enough to bite
That's the season to be young
Catching snowflakes on your tongue
Snow is snowy when it's snowing
I'm sorry it's slushy when it's going
I search and searched to find this poem today. The children I taught loved it. We used to learn it off my heart and do all the actions. It has such lovely images doesn't it? I love the line: 'The world looks good enough to bite.'

I have tears in my eyes as I am writing you this...you were my very first teacher at Our Lady's Infant School, Eastworth Road, Chertsey in 1970. I visited my Mum and Dad this afternoon and Mum told me she ran into a couple of women selling raffle tickets at the local garden centre (Knaphill) who mentioned you and your book. I would dearly love to see you, where are you based? I am in Woking, Surrey and teach T'ai Chi for a living (specialise in coaching athletes) and noticed you are into yoga :-) Visit my website please www.chipowergolf.com and get in touch. You will find my email address and mobile number on the site. Hope you remember me, I remember you very well indeed. Big hug, Jayne Storey (My Mum sends her love to you too) xx
